“Beyond Bitcoin: How Blockchain is
Transforming Cryptocurrency, Commerce and the Arts”
After graduating from Princeton with a degree in Economics, Devin held several positions at BlackRock, concentrating on Platform Innovation. This was followed by an internship, ongoing, at uPort, a self-sovereign identity solution built on the Ethereum blockchain, housed within ConsenSys. Concurrently, she is pursuing an MBA in MIT’s Sloan School of Management, where she has led an MIT Media Lab Digital Currency Initiative Working Group, as well as the first MBA Blockchain Venture Competition hosted by ConsenSys. Devin’s talk will commence with a primer on Blockchain and its history. She will then delineate applications beyond cryptocurrency, and trace the decentralizing and disruptive impacts this technology is generating in all our lives --- from currency to IP to our very identity.
