PA3 Book Club: November Meeting

Oct. 28, 2017 - The book club will meet on Thursday, November 30, from 7-8:30 pm in East Pyne 111. Continuing, loosely, with our recent F. Scott Fitzgerald theme, but with a turn to light entertainment, our November selection is

CAMINO ISLAND, by John Grisham

The book opens with the heist of Fitzgerald manuscripts from Firestone Library. (Library staff were good sports about it and invited Grisham to speak at Princeton, as reported here by the Prince.)

--
Sneak preview: our selection for January is An Odyssey: A Father, a Son, and an Epic, by Daniel Mendelsohn *94.

--
The PA3 book club meets on the last Thursday of each month (except July, August & December) from 7-8:30 at a location on campus. Selections alternate between fiction and non-fiction, and the authors or books typically have a Princeton connection.

A list of all books the club has discussed can be found here.

To be added to the book club email list, please contact bookclub.admin@princetonaaa.org.

Join us for First Fridays, a monthly recurring event for undergraduate and graduate Princeton alumni, graduate students, and parents.  On the first Friday of each month, area alumni and their guests will meet to enjoy a prix fixe luncheon at the Nassau Club in downtown Princeton.  As a special bonus for PA3, a Princeton University PhD candidate will present his/her work to the group in this informal setting.  Topics vary monthly and are always interesting!  Have a look at our impressive roster of previous luncheons.

Robin Resch

Is it possible for photography and architecture to intersect? Can an image have structure? On Friday, December 1st, we will be joined by Robin Resch *03/Architecture, who is both a photographer and an architect.  She strives to combine key elements of each discipline in distinct and refreshing ways.  'Of Rock and Salt,' Robin's exhibit of fine art photography presently on display at the Nassau Club, comprises contemplative and emotive images where the importance of horizon, or lack of perceivable horizon, come into play.  Join us to hear Robin's insights into creative design and learn how she innovates with techniques and materials.

As always, there is sure to be a lively discussion! Please join us.

Specially priced at $25/person (or $30 if you choose not to pay PA3's annual dues), lunch includes three courses, a complementary soft drink and coffee/tea. [**Wine/beer offered a la carte**]
