First Friday Lunch - January 11th, 2013
First Friday Lunch at the Nassau Club - January 11th, 2013 (yes...the Second Friday this time)
Join us for First Fridays, a monthly recurring event for undergraduate and graduate Princeton alumni, graduate students, and parents. On the first Friday of each month, area alumni and their guests meet to enjoy a prix fixe luncheon buffet at the Nassau Club in downtown Princeton. As a special bonus for PA3, a Princeton PhD candidate presents his/her work to the group in this informal setting. Topics vary monthly and are always interesting!
This month, we will be joined by Nadezhda Savova, who has her PhD from the Department of Anthropology. Nadezhda's project focuses on the cultural policy of heritage conceptualization in Cuba and Brazil. Her research spans four levels of arts and heritage discourse: transnational, national, local and personal, and each one explores how the notions of intangible cultural heritage are imagined and applied to shape social relationships, politics, economics and cultural norms. Savova hopes her research will stimulate more academic and policy discussions on the multiple roles of both modern and "folk" arts in their community-practiced artistic expressions, such as dances, singing, music and theater.
Specially priced at $25/person (or $30 if you choose not to pay PA3's annual dues), lunch includes the Nassau Club’s full buffet as well as a complementary beverage (wine, beer, soft drink). Pre-registration is required.
>> Looking forward to seeing you...in your orange and black! <<
