Free Wine Tasting on Sunday, 6/30
Hi everyone-- I'm helping David Beck '66 put together a (free!)
wine tasting this coming Sunday, from 1-6pm at the Princeton
Corkscrew Wine Shop. He and his wife Jeanne are in town to show
off the latest Montebruno pinot noir from their Willamette
Vineyard. (As an aside, I've tried it, and it's delicious!!.)
If anyone is around this coming Sunday between 1-6pm,
please stop by the Corkscrew (49 Hulfish St, a couple of doors
down from Mediterra) and support a local Tiger's endeavors,
and taste some amazing pinots while you're at it.
Best wishes,
-Jane Fleming Fransson '00

Recap of PA3's 2013 Annual Dinner
PA3 held its annual meeting and dinner on April 23, 2013 at the Institute for Advanced Study. Approximately 75 members and guests registered for the event.
President of PA3 Kristin Epstein '97 introduced the business part of the meeting and presented a brief annual report, noting that approximately 50 events were held or sponsored by PA3 during the last year. Elections were then conducted by George L. Bustin '70 for officers of the organization, in accordance with the by-laws. The following slate of officers was proposed by the Nominating Committee and elected for a two-year term by affirmative vote of the members present at the meeting:
- President: Sev Onyshkevych '83
- Vice President: Arlen Kassof Hastings '80
- Secretary: Sara Hastings '09
- Treasurer: Fouad Masrieh *69
In addition, the meeting approved the recommendation of the Nominating Committee that the two unexpired terms of directors of PA3 be filled by Rick Ober '65 and Jim Robertson '91.
Following the elections, president-elect Sev Onyshkevich and the full executive committee of PA3 joined in thanking Kristin Epstein for her leadership in reviving the association and building a strong, lively organization during her two terms as president.
Henry von Kohorn, president of the Alumni Association and chair of the Alumni Council, made a special presentation to PA3 on behalf of the Alumni Council for excellence in communications; the award was accepted by secretary Sara C. Hastings '09 and Daniel Hayes-Patterson '09, Technology chair.
The highlight of the evening was an address during dinner by Robbert Dijgraaf, Director of the Institute for Advanced Study and Leon Levy Professor, on "The Usefulness of Useless Knowledge". Professor Dijgraaf was introduced by Associate Director of the Institute Michael Gehret '69.
PA3 extended its special thanks to The Bank of Princeton, which contributed funds to cover the cost of all drinks provided at the annual dinner, for the fourth year in a row. The Bank was represented at the dinner by Mr. Andrew Chon (P'16), chairman of the Board, with Mrs. Chon, and Robert Ridolfi '70, director.
The meeting was adjourned by Lydia Zaininger '83, social events committee chair.
