All Ivy Ski Trip Stowe Jan 17-20

"ALL IVY" SKI/SNOWBOARD TRIP

TO VERMONT

The quaint New England village of Stowe, Vermont will charm you while

the nearby mountains challenge you.  Our private motor coach will make

pick-ups in Philadelphia, Princeton, and Morristown...  And this year

we have a SNOWMOBILE TOUR option!

Date:              January 17-20, 2014 (Friday through Monday - Martin Luther King Weekend)

Departing:     Philadelphia, PA / Princeton, NJ / Morristown, NJ

Signups:        www.thcop.org

The Harvard Club of Princeton ("HCOP") invites all Ivy League alumni along with their spouses, significant others, friends, and guests to our annual Ivy League Ski/Snowboard Trip.  And to be perfectly clear...  Those significant others, friends, and guests DO NOT need any association with an Ivy institution other than you!  So bring 'em along!  We are very inclusive!

This year our destination is Stowe, Vermont which is known as The Ski Capital of the East.  The combination of magnificent Mount Mansfield and the old world charm of Stowe Village has beckoned guests to this mountain retreat for more than 200 years.  With an average snowfall of 22 feet, Stowe is typically blanketed in white from mid-November through April and also offers horse drawn sleigh rides, snowmobiling, snowshoeing, and ice skating.  Need more information?  You are guaranteed to find it all at www.gostowe.com.

We will travel by private motor coach departing Philadelphia, PA Friday morning at 9:00AM and pick up additional alumni and guests in Princeton, NJ at 10:00AM and then Morristown, NJ at 11:30AM.  The bus will be stocked with an ample supply of sandwiches, snacks, and adult refreshments for your pleasure.  We will arrive Stowe late in the afternoon and you will have Friday and Saturday evenings free to explore the quaint New England village of Stowe, visit its numerous shops, savor its excellent restaurants, explore the varied nightlife, relax in the Jacuzzis at our hotel, have a snowball fight, or take a romantic sleigh ride...  Or perhaps all of the above!!!

We have put together an all-inclusive package which consists of:

-  All transportation

-  Friday night lodging

-  Saturday buffet breakfast

-  Saturday lift ticket

-  Saturday night lodging

-  Sunday buffet breakfast

-  Sunday lift ticket

-  Sunday evening group dinner with door prizes

-  Sunday night lodging

-  Monday buffet breakfast

There will be single, double, triple, and quadruple occupancy options available at our hotel.  So it makes sense to bring along a few friends!  We will be staying at The Commodores Inn (www.commodoresinn.com).  The Inn is located near the heart of Stowe and offers a sauna, an indoor pool, and jacuzzis to relax your bones after an exciting day on the mountain.  Equipment rentals and lessons will also be available at reduced rates.  Additionally, an optional guided snowmobile tour is also available.

We will also award door prizes on Sunday evening during our group dinner and the lucky grand prize winner will enjoy a 100% CASH REFUND on the spot for all amounts paid for his/her trip package!

Flying solo?  Not a problem.  Sign up for a double room and we will pair you with another individual.

Signups require a $200 deposit per person to guarantee your reservation and be handled on a "first come, first served" basis.  The balance will be due on December 31, 2013.  So mark your calendars now!

SNOWMOBILE TOUR OPTION

This year we are also offering an adventurous 25 mile snowmobile journey on Sunday through the Mount Mansfield State Forest for both the beginner and advanced rider.  Go at your own pace, or challenge yourself on the varied terrain.  This tour has it all: hills, woods, straight-aways and speed (if you want it!) and take about two hours.  This is no “stroll through the woods!”  Check out pictures and video at http://www.stowesnowmobiletours.com/galleries/.

Boots and helmets are included at no additional cost.  If you do not have your own warm clothing (ski clothes work perfectly), we have suit rentals available for a small fee.  All tours are customized to your ability level and desires, so you do not need to be an "expert" to do this. Book now for an experience you won’t forget.  Treat yourself to an adventure and check out the back country of Vermont in its prime winter season.  Cost of this adventure is $149 for a single (one person on a sled), $99 for a double (per person, two people on a sled, you provide the match), and $89 to "ride with a guide" (one person on a sled with an experienced guide).

Signups require a $50 deposit per person to guarantee your reservation and be handled on a "first come, first served" basis.  The balance will be due on December 31, 2013.  We will be reserving sleds for you weeks in advance of our trip.  Consequently, there is no guarantee that sleds will be available at the last minute.  So make your reservation now!!!

Tigers Got Talent

The Princeton Varsity Club is excited to support "Tigers Got Talent," a talent show featuring Princeton's varsity student-athletes at Dillon Gym on Thursday, November 7. This new event will showcase the various talents of student-athletes across several different teams.

The talent show, sponsored by the PVC Service Circle, will donate 100% of funds earned from the show to Generosity Water, a nonprofit organization dedicated to ending the clean water crisis in developing countries, one community at a time.

A true example of teamwork across multiple sports, "Tigers Got Talent"' is the brainchild of several student-athletes. Courtney Ciardiello '15, Elizabeth Gelb '15, Maylin Meisenheimer '16, Emily Yu '15, Taylor Dunstan '15, & Ashley Hatcher '15 (women's swimming & women's water polo team members) created the event driven by the desire to bring together the entire athletics community for a night of exciting performances.

Tickets are $10 for the Princeton community and $5 for students with a Princeton ID.  Cash only.  Tickets are available for pre-sale at the Jadwin Gym Ticket Office or at the door.

The PVC will also be selling vintage t-shirts at incredible discount prices. Be sure to buy your tickets early and grab a seat in Dillon Gym in order to help support this great cause!
